Muth Jar, the first commercial honey container!  With the invention of the modern Langstroth hive (the square white boxes still in use today), beekeepers were able to produce more honey than they used.  Charles Muth designed the "Muth Jar" in 1870 for them to sell their extra honey.

Honey Muth Jar

I bought this honey at the Farmers Market at Aksarben & absolutely love it! I have some sinus/allergy issues & use this local honey on my plain yogurt w/fruit & toasted pecans. It’s my go-to breakfast & I find the honey helps w/my allergies-but it has to be “local”!
Thank you to It’s all about bees & their work in getting the customer what they need! I also love the history behind this jar. When it gets thick, I stick it in the microwave for a few seconds & it’s good to pour.
Thank you!
